I have finally fulfilled my dream of having my own carport. In this project, I decided to build a wooden double carport from EasyCarport myself. The entire process, from the preparation of the substrate to the final installation of the roof curb sheets, was a challenging but also very fulfilling task. In the following article, I provide a detailed insight into the individual steps and challenges of this construction project.

Build your own carport – calculate and adjust post lengths correctly
The kit for the carport was delivered and the weather was getting better every day. The construction of the carport was now within reach. In order for the construction to run smoothly, the work had to be well planned. As well as catering for the construction team, I had to make sure that I had the tools I needed in stock. I also had to check my preparatory work, especially the height of the post anchors, to avoid any nasty surprises when putting up the carport. EasyCarport kit – delivery and accessories
Once the base and post anchors were in place, we just had to wait for the kit to be delivered. I put together and ordered the carport from the company “Easy Carport” online. Lawn Irrigation Comparison Hunter MP Rotator vs. RainBird R-Van
My lawn irrigation system has been extensively rebuilt in recent years in preparation for expansion. The small lawn in front of the office on the east side should be incorporated into the existing lawn irrigation system in a timely manner. I had already calculated the position of the sprinklers. The area is relatively small, about 10 x 10 meters. Irrigation with the previously installed Hunter i20 sprinklers did not seem very effective to me. I have therefore dealt with more in-depth with the so-called rotator bursts.

Build your own carport – embedding post anchors in concrete
Within a few weeks, we had prepared the excavation pit for our future double carport. The retaining wall on the slope was also built with formwork stones and has already been backfilled. The earth now had to subside and the frost from the winter months had to disappear first. Build your own carport – secure slope with shuttering blocks
To effectively secure the slope behind my carport, I decided to build a retaining wall made of formwork stones. This measure was not only intended to bring visual improvements, but also to ensure the stability of the slope. In this context, the construction of a solid strip foundation was essential in order to guarantee permanent slope stabilization. In this article I describe how I built the concrete foundation and I describe how I built my steel-reinforced wall from concrete formwork blocks in order to be able to use our new carport safely, despite the slope.
