The foundation of the garden kitchen was ready and now the masonry with the gas concrete blocks could start. Overall, my project for the new outdoor kitchen right by the pool had already been delayed by 6 months. Cov19, shortage of materials and craftsmen sent their regards. The weather also very often put a spoke in my wheel. But now the time had come and it could start.

I had already put up the garden house for the bird aviary and small animal aviary. The only thing missing was a suitable outdoor enclosure to protect the rabbits, birds and guinea pigs outside the four walls. My aim was to give the animals a generous outdoor space without losing sight of the building costs. The outdoor aviary in the garden should also be designed in such a way that it can easily be converted into a garden shed at a later date.

The garden shed for the aviary was built just 2 days after the concrete foundation in the garden was completed. The concrete surface was dry and stable enough even if the entire floor slab would certainly need a few more weeks to dry out.

Build your own pool – Masonry walls with reinforcement | Set formwork stones
The plans for the construction of our new pool in the garden were finalized and the construction of the pool could continue with the masonry of the pool walls. This step was not particularly complicated, but it was much more time-consuming to implement. This time the pool was built from solid stones. Of course, these had to be carried to the construction site first. Of course, the formwork blocks also had to be cut and adjusted before installation. In the following article, I describe how we implemented all of this to build our new pool in the garden.
