Lawn Irrigation Comparison Hunter MP Rotator vs. RainBird R-Van
My lawn irrigation system has been extensively rebuilt in recent years in preparation for expansion. The small lawn in front of the office on the east side should be incorporated into the existing lawn irrigation system in a timely manner. I had already calculated the position of the sprinklers. The area is relatively small, about 10 x 10 meters. Irrigation with the previously installed Hunter i20 sprinklers did not seem very effective to me. I have therefore dealt with more in-depth with the so-called rotator bursts.

Slope stabilization – stack gabions safely on top of each other
Over a period of a few weeks, I built the first row of gabions over a length of around 30 meters. A relatively straight section was followed by a slight bend. By placing the gabions inside each other, I was able to form a corner on the south-east side. Towards the end, the difference in height to the existing gabion wall was ensured via a terraced structure of the subsoil. As this was not enough to safely support the entire slope behind the wall, I had to stack the stone baskets in a second row. In this article I describe the construction of my 2 meter high and more than…

Securing slopes with gabions – installing stones correctly
I had now erected the first row of gabions on my earth slope over a length of a good 30 meters. I drew a nice curve for the next 20 meters and then built a real corner with a height offset for the remaining meters. Before I could install the second row of stone baskets, the bottom row first had to be filled with stones.

Securing slopes with gabions – building corners and curves
The stone baskets for the gabion wall were erected over a length of a good 20 meters within a few weeks. Starting from the driveway in a south-easterly direction, I was able to build a slight curve. The spirals provide a certain amount of play – but this does not allow for tight curves. So now I had to form proper corners with

Secure raised bed on a slope with gabions and honeycomb fleece
The raised bed between my two gabion walls is to be redesigned. In future, the plants will be watered automatically. I install an automatic irrigation system for this purpose. This time the whole thing is to be realized with a drip hose.

Building a raised bed on a slope with gabions and automatic irrigation
The raised bed between my two gabion walls is to be redesigned. In future, the plants will be watered automatically. I install an automatic irrigation system for this purpose. This time the whole thing is to be realized with a drip hose. Solenoid valves from Hunter ensure automatic control of irrigation via my irrigation computer. The water supply for the automatic irrigation system is via a 25 mm PE pipe.
