Designing a smart and efficient garden kitchen – installing lights, sockets and water connections
The development of my garden kitchen has made significant progress, particularly in the areas of electrics, water installation and the integration of smart technologies for lighting and control. I’d like to give you an insight into how I overcame these challenges, from carefully planning the lighting to installing smart sockets and light switches that enable flexible and efficient use.

LiFePo4 Powerstation – mobile storage for stand-alone PV systems
Powerstation for the garden house: the animal house in the garden with its large aviary requires electricity for the lighting and diesel heating. In order to reduce the electricity costs in the long term, I have built a PV island system which stores the electricity from the photovoltaic modules in special solar batteries. These batteries are now to be replaced by a mobile LiFePo4 battery.

Set up Reolink camera optimally
The Reolink surveillance cameras offer many functions. But what settings do I need to make to achieve the best results? And what is the difference between the settings on the network video recorder (NVR) and the camera? I would like to describe the setup and configuration of my Reolink PoE IP camera in more detail in the following article. You can also watch the entire installation process at

Balcony power station – Set up the Solarman app optimally
With a balcony power plant it is possible to cover the basic consumption of electricity in the household. But how do you monitor power generation? How do I know if the system is actually profitable? Quite clearly: with a program for analyzing, evaluating and monitoring PV power generation.

800W balcony power plant easy to install & optimize by yourself
To cover the base load I have installed a small 300W balcony power plant for quite some time. I was able to gain some experience and optimize my own use of solar power. Now I am replacing my 300W balcony power plant with a new 800W balcony power plant. In addition to the new PV modules, I renew the substructure, the microinverter and, of course, the connection to the house grid. During my rebuild, a few questions came up, which I would like to answer with this entry and my video: 👉 What components does a balcony power plant consist of? 👉 How to fix a balcony power station?…

Install Reolink RLN36 NVR | Install hard disk and set up camera
To monitor my property, I had set up a camera surveillance system. Nine Hikvison and Trendnet cameras monitored every nook and cranny on the site. The data was stored on a QNAP NAS. The system ran cleanly and stably – but also at the capacity limit. The amount of data from the cameras was simply too large and I had to think about how to future-proof my surveillance system. I therefore decided to set up a Reolink camera system and store the data on an NVR, a network video recorder. In this post I show you how I went about it.
