I had now erected the first row of gabions on my earth slope over a length of a good 30 meters. I drew a nice curve for the next 20 meters and then built a real corner with a height offset for the remaining meters. Before I could install the second row of stone baskets, the bottom row first had to be filled with stones.

Below the gabion-enclosed parking lot, right next to the house, there is an earth slope. This is a good 6m long and just under 2m deep. The entire terrain is sloping at this point and the slope compensates for a height difference of around 1.5m. The slope is so steep that it slides downwards bit by bit during heavy rainfall. I had to find a solution for slope stabilization quickly.

I have already installed a few gabions on our property. Gabions are metal baskets that are filled with stones and thus have a decorative purpose as well as a static one. I spent more than a year working on a 30-meter-long slope stabilization with gabions.
