Retrofitting a Variable Frequency Drive for Your Pool Pump: Installation, Settings, and Saving Electricity

I retrofitted my SPECK BADU Magic II 8 with the AquaForte Vario+ II, reduced the speed, and cut daily electricity consumption—including that of the UV-C lamp—by about 43 percent. In this video, I’ll show you how to install, connect, and set up the variable-frequency drive on the pool pump. My measurements and experiences explain why 2,000 rpm have proven effective in real-world testing and what matters when it comes to runtime, tank flow, and compatibility.
