Robot mower without boundary wire in test: Anthbot M5 LiDAR for small gardens
In this video, I test the Anthbot M5 LiDAR, a compact robotic lawnmower without a boundary wire that has been specially developed for smaller and winding gardens up to around 500 m². Instead of RTK or wire, the robot relies on 360° LiDAR navigation, creates a precise 3D map of the garden and reliably orients itself to fixed structures such as paths, beds and walls.
I show the complete process from unboxing, setup and mapping to the practical test with several zones, narrow passages and obstacles. I also discuss the mowing performance, edge cutting and obstacle detection and show where the strengths and limitations of the system lie.
