Why I switched to the KROAK TB2 diesel heater
In my workshop, it was always a challenge to maintain a comfortable temperature in winter. Before installing the KROAK TB2 diesel parking heater, I used an electric fan heater with an output of 3.2 kW. Heating up worked very quickly, but the high electricity costs made this solution too expensive in the long term.
Switching to a diesel parking heater was therefore the perfect alternative for me to save costs in the long term and still have a reliable source of heat.

Installing the KROAK TB2 diesel heater: Step-by-step instructions for the workshop
Installing the KROAK TB2 diesel heater in my workshop was easier than I had originally thought. Thanks to the well thought-out design and the compact case shape, I was able to install the heater quickly and safely. I would like to explain the individual steps to you in detail here. If you would prefer to watch the installation, you will find a video further down in the article in which I show the entire process step by step.
Choice of location and installation
Choosing a seat was the first important step. I have set up the KROAK TB2 in a corner of my workshop. The compact design of the all-in-one case makes installation much easier, as no additional space is required for external components such as the tank or exhaust.
The handle on the case makes it easy to transport the heater if I want to use it at a different location. It was important for me to position the heater in a well-ventilated place to ensure safe use.
Laying the exhaust hose
The exhaust fumes from the diesel heater must be safely discharged from the interior to avoid health risks. For this, I used an existing hole in the wall that I had originally drilled for another project.
I replaced the 60 cm long exhaust hose supplied with the appliance with a 120 cm long exhaust hose so that the exhaust gases could be reliably routed outside. This extension was necessary because my workshop walls are relatively thick and the exhaust fumes needed to be routed safely outside.
It is particularly important to seal the connections of the flue gas hose airtight. I used special clamps and a heat-resistant exhaust sealing paste for this.
Safety is the top priority when installing the flue gas system, as leaks could lead dangerous gases into the room.
Filling the diesel tank
The integrated 6-liter tank of the KROAK TB2 is easy to fill. However, I was careful not to spill any diesel, as the smell of diesel or heating oil is very persistent and can remain in the room for a long time. A funnel helped me to work cleanly when filling.
The tank is large enough to operate the heater for several hours or even an entire working day, depending on the power level, without the need to refill.
Electrical connection
The KROAK TB2 can be flexibly connected to various power sources. The transformer supplied makes it easy to connect the heater to a 220V socket.
Alternatively, the 8kW diesel heater can also be operated directly with a 12V battery, which is particularly practical for mobile applications such as camping or in the garden shed.

Control of the KROAK TB2 diesel heater: app, control panel and remote control
Controlling the KROAK TB2 diesel heater is simple and flexible thanks to the sophisticated options. With the Bluetooth app, the control panel directly on the heater and a remote control, the heating can be individually adapted to the respective requirements.
Control via Bluetooth app
The Bluetooth app of the KROAK TB2 is one of the highlights of the heater. The setup was very easy and quick:
- First, I scanned the QR code in the operating instructions. This leads directly to the official download links for the app in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
- After installation, I was able to download the app directly from the official app stores, which is not always the case with many apps from Chinese manufacturers.
- There was no need to register or create a customer account, which I think is a great advantage. The app was ready to use straight away and connected to the heating system via Bluetooth.
The connection worked straight away, but the Bluetooth range is rather short and limited to around 10 meters.
Functions of the app:
- Setting the heating levels: The heat output can be adjusted in 10 stages to optimally regulate energy consumption and heat output.
- Temperature display: The current ambient temperature is displayed in real time.
- Timer function: Start and end times can be programmed so that the room is already preheated when you enter it.
- Mode change: The app makes it possible to switch between different modes such as step-based output and target temperature-controlled heating.
- Error messages: If a problem occurs (e.g. low diesel level or overheating), the app displays appropriate warnings.
Advantages of the app:
- The clear user interface is the app’s greatest added value compared to the control panel. All important settings and information can be seen at a glance.
- Control via smartphone is convenient, especially if you are not standing right next to the heating.
- No customer account or registration required, which makes it easy and secure to use.
Control via control panel
The control panel with the LCD display, which is attached directly to the KROAK TB2 diesel heater, also offers extensive control options. This panel is ideal for use when you are in the immediate vicinity of the heating.
Functions of the control panel:
- Manual adjustment of the heating levels: The heating level can be increased or decreased directly using the buttons.

Conclusion: Flexibility and convenience in control
The KROAK TB2 diesel heater offers versatile and flexible control with its app, control panel and remote control. While the app impresses with its clear user interface, simple setup and convenience, the control panel is the ideal solution for direct control on site. The remote control adds to the possibilities with its quick and easy operation.
The app’s short Bluetooth range is a minor disadvantage, but this is more than compensated for by the convenience and additional functions, such as the timer setting.
With these three options, the heating can be individually adapted – whether in the workshop, in the garden shed or when camping.

Heat output, consumption and noise level of the KROAK TB2 diesel heater
The KROAK TB2 diesel heater not only impresses with its fast heating performance, but also with its economical fuel and power consumption and moderate noise level. In the following, I share my experiences on these aspects and show why this heater is ideal for workshops, camping or garden sheds.
Heat output: Fast heating and reliable temperature control
The heater heated my workshop from 9°C to 20°C in about 2 hours – and that at full load. The heating then ran for another hour to keep the temperature constant. The option of adjusting the heat output in ten stages has proven to be particularly practical for optimizing consumption without having to sacrifice sufficient heat.
Power consumption: Economical and also suitable for mobile use
The power consumption of the KROAK TB2 diesel heater is surprisingly low. During my test, the heater ran for a total of 3 hours and, according to my measurement with a smart socket, consumed a total of 160 watts. The average consumption was around 45 watts per hour, with the maximum being 115 watts (0.8 amps) for just under 3 minutes during the start-up process.
After starting, the power consumption settles at a very low level depending on the heating level. This makes the heater particularly flexible – it can easily be operated with a power box or a car battery, making it ideal for use when camping or in places without a power connection.
Fuel consumption: efficient and cost-effective
The fuel consumption of the KROAK TB2 is also manageable. According to the manufacturer, consumption is between 0.18 and 0.64 liters per hour, depending on the power level.
I ran the heater in my workshop for about 3 hours at the weekend. Of these, it ran for 2 hours on a high heat setting to bring the temperature up to 22°C and then 1 hour on a lower setting to maintain the temperature. Consumption during this period was around 0.5 liters of diesel, which was easy to understand from the fill level of the tank. The tank was full to the brim beforehand, and after operation there was about 1 cm missing from the level of the 6-liter tank.
Volume: Moderate, but perceptible
The volume of the KROAK TB2 depends on the power level and the environment.
- Indoors: While the pump makes an audible clacking noise when it is first started, the operating noise is moderate overall. The heater is therefore also suitable for use in bedrooms, for example when camping.
- Outside: The exhaust and airflow are audible in the higher power levels. The sound can be heard at a distance of 10 meters in a quiet environment. It is clearly audible from 5 meters and resembles the sound of a fan in an extractor hood or a bathroom fan. However, the noise is barely perceptible when the windows are closed.
For those who want to further reduce the noise level, there are special silencers that can be used for the exhaust. These can significantly reduce noise levels. I have not tested this solution yet, but the positive reviews of such products suggest that they are effective.
The KROAK TB2 diesel heater scores with a fast heat-up time, economical fuel and power consumption and a moderate noise level. With the right installation and possibly additional silencers, the heater can even be used in noise-sensitive environments.
In addition to the one-off purchase costs, which are somewhat higher compared to other solutions, operation only requires diesel fuel and a power supply. However, with the usual intended use, no further costs should arise.
