Safety in my own home is particularly important to me – especially when I’m out and about a lot or want to sleep peacefully at night. In my latest test, I took a close look at four of the best 180° surveillance cameras from Reolink: the Reolink Argus 4 Pro, the Duo 3 PoE, the Duo 3 WiFi and the new Duo 3V PoE. All models rely on modern dual lens technology and offer you a complete field of vision without any blind spots.
I installed the cameras myself, connected them to the Reolink app and tested them extensively – day and night, in sun and rain. In this article, I’ll show you which Reolink 4K camera is best suited for which application and what the differences are between WLAN (WiFi) and PoE models. I go into detail about image quality, motion detection, night vision and smart home integration with Alexa and Google Assistant.

Reolink Duo surveillance camera: How the 180° technology works
The 180° panorama technology of the Reolink Duo series is based on an innovative dual lens system in which two camera lenses are positioned next to each other. Each lens covers a range of approx. 95° to 100°. The seamless merging of the two image streams creates an ultra-wide, distortion-free panorama with a field of view of up to 180° horizontally – without any fisheye effect.
This technology is used, for example, in the Reolink Duo 3 WiFi, the Duo 3 PoE and the new Duo 3V PoE. All three models offer an impressive 16MP UHD resolution (2× 8MP sensors), which not only enables a high level of detail, but also excellent digital zoom capability. The Reolink Argus 4 Pro is a modern 4K solar surveillance camera that is characterized above all by its high image quality and flexibility. Equipped with a 180° wide angle and the innovative ColorX night vision technology, the camera delivers colorful and detailed images even in complete darkness – without any additional spotlight. Reolink Duo 3 PoE review – 180° surveillance with 16MP UHD and AI detection
The Reolink Duo 3 PoE is currently one of the most powerful PoE surveillance cameras for outdoor use. It combines two high-resolution lenses, each with 8 megapixels, to create a distortion-free 180° panorama that ensures complete coverage even over large areas – without blind spots.
With its 16MP UHD resolution (2× 8MP sensors), the Duo 3 PoE delivers razor-sharp images day and night. The integrated color night vision enables clear images even in low light, without any IR cast. In my test, I was particularly impressed by the depth of detail and the natural color reproduction – even in scenes with backlighting or twilight.
Thanks to Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), the camera can be installed with just one network cable for power supply and data transmission. This makes them the ideal solution for house walls, outbuildings or carports where a network infrastructure is already in place. I installed it on the shed – with a perfect view over the entire garden.
The Reolink Duo 3 PoE works with the well-known Reolink app, supports the Reolink Home Hub Pro and is fully compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa. A connection to a Reolink NVR is also possible without any problems.

The Reolink Duo 3V PoE is a powerful 16MP surveillance camera with two synchronized lenses that together create a seamless 180° panorama. It therefore offers seamless surveillance without distortion – ideal for large areas such as driveways, gardens or patios. In the test of the Reolink Duo 3 PoE, I was particularly impressed by the depth of detail of the images and the reliable detection.
The camera delivers razor-sharp images during the day and also shows all details clearly at night thanks to color night vision. The combination of high resolution and intelligent motion detection ensures that important events are detected precisely and reported reliably.
Installation via Power over Ethernet (PoE) was straightforward in my case – with just one LAN cable for power and data. I mounted the camera on the outside of the shed. Since then, it has covered the entire garden – reliably, with excellent image quality and without any noticeable delay.

The Reolink Duo 3 WiFi is a powerful WiFi surveillance camera with two synchronized lenses that create a distortion-free 180° field of view. With its 16MP UHD resolution (2× 8MP), it is currently one of the most detailed WLAN models in the Reolink portfolio. The camera is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and offers reliable surveillance with intelligent object detection.
In my test of the Reolink Duo 3 WiFi, I was able to determine consistently good performance. I find the simple WLAN installation without cabling particularly practical – ideal for areas where there are no network cables. I used the camera in the garden as a test and was able to monitor the entire area around my garden shed – completely wirelessly.
Thanks to color night vision, the camera delivers natural, bright images even in low light. Motion detection works reliably and the Reolink app provides quick access to live images and recordings.

In my detailed test of the best Reolink 180-degree cameras, I compared four current models that particularly impress with their large field of view, high resolution and smart functions.
