Scope of delivery and technical data of the Anthbot Genie 600 robotic lawnmower

The Anthbot Genie 600 is a cordless robotic lawnmower that works completely without a perimeter wire. It uses a precise RTK navigation system in combination with 4-camera detection to move reliably through the garden. The model is designed for lawns of up to 900 m² and can cope with slopes of up to 45 % (24°). Navigation via GPS is supported by the RTK antenna, allowing the robotic lawnmower to work with centimeter precision – even without fixed wires in the ground, making it an ideal cordless robotic lawnmower.

The cutting width is 20 cm and the cutting height can be adjusted between 30 and 70 mm. The robot works with a 2.5 Ah lithium-ion battery, which offers a running time of approx. 60 minutes. The charging time at the station is around 90 minutes. The firmware is regularly updated automatically via OTA update.

The scope of delivery includes:

  • the Anthbot Genie 600 cordless mower
  • the charging station with connection for the RTK antenna
  • a power supply unit and ground anchors for fixing to the ground
  • a short connection cable (approx. 30 cm) and an RTK extension cable
  • a set with German operating instructions and quick guide
  • App links for iOS and Android for control and setup

The RTK extension cable is particularly important in order to be able to position the RTK antenna flexibly in the garden. The antenna requires a clear view of the sky in order to establish a stable satellite connection. If this cable is missing, the antenna must be mounted directly on the charging station – which is unfavorable in many gardens, as there is often no ideal position for satellite reception. In practice, this can lead to signal interruptions and imprecise navigation.

Anthbot has responded to this problem: The previously missing extension cable is now included as standard. This shows that the company reacts quickly to user feedback.

Excursus: How does RTK work with a robotic lawnmower?

RTK stands for Real Time Kinematic and is a satellite-based precision technology for determining position. Unlike conventional GPS, which is accurate to around two to three meters, RTK enables navigation with centimeter precision.

The system consists of two components: a base station (in this case the RTK antenna on the charging station) and the receiver in the robotic lawnmower. The base station receives GPS signals from several satellites and compares them with its fixed position. It uses this to calculate correction data, which it transmits to the robot in real time. This allows the position of the robot to be determined much more precisely.

RTK allows the robotic lawnmower to travel precisely along defined paths, even without a classic boundary wire. The system is particularly useful for large areas, winding plots or areas with several zones.

Set up the charging station correctly

Positioning, connection and WLAN connection

The charging station forms the central interface between the robotic lawnmower, the app and the precise RTK navigation. To ensure that the positioning works reliably, a few requirements must be met during installation.

The station should be installed on a firm, level surface – paving stones, compacted ground or a stable slab are ideal. It is fixed in place with the supplied ground anchors for a secure hold. The rear of the station must remain easily accessible, as this is where the power cable and the cable to the RTK antenna are connected.

The cables are each screwed to the cable ends of the robot station with a watertight connection.

Particularly important: The RTK antenna requires a clear view of the sky in order to establish a stable connection to the satellites. Obstacles such as walls, trees or roofs in the immediate vicinity should be avoided at all costs. The antenna can be positioned flexibly using the extension cable – regardless of the location of the charging station.

The Wi-Fi signal is only required at the station, as this is where the connection to the cloud, firmware updates and synchronization with the app take place. WLAN is not required on the rest of the lawn.

Correct positioning of the charging station ensures that the robotic lawnmower can work efficiently without a boundary wire and that navigation via GPS and RTK is precise.

Set up the robotic lawnmower in the app

Connection and start configuration step by step

The Anthbot Genie 600 is set up using the Anthbot app, which is available for Android and iOS. The entire process is user-friendly and can be completed in just a few minutes, which is unfortunately not the case for many robotic lawnmowers. The app guides you step by step through all the necessary settings so that the robotic lawnmower is immediately ready for use.

This is how the setup works in the app:

  1. Install Anthbot app
The app is available free of charge from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
    Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anthbot.genie
    iOS: https://apps.apple.com/hr/app/anthbot-genie/id6504674192
The app is required to connect the robotic lawnmower, make settings, create schedules and manage firmware updates.
  2. Activate Bluetooth and switch on the robot
To establish the first connection, Bluetooth must be activated on the smartphone. The robotic lawnmower itself should be on the charging station and switched on, as a connection can only be established in this state. The app recognizes the device automatically.
  3. Add device in the app
In the app, you can search for available devices via the “Add device” menu item. As soon as the robotic lawnmower has been found, it can be added to the app.
  4. Enter and change PIN code
The start PIN is set to 0000 at the factory. After the first connection, a separate PIN code should be assigned for security reasons to prevent unauthorized access to the robot.
  5. Assign a name for the robotic lawnmower
The robot can be named individually in the app. This is particularly helpful if several devices are in use or different models are being managed.
  6. Establish WLAN connection (2.4 GHz network only)
The robot must be connected to a WLAN for communication with the cloud, firmware updates and mapping. It is important that only 2.4 GHz WLAN is supported – many modern routers transmit at both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. It should be ensured that the smartphone is also logged into the 2.4 GHz network during the setup process, otherwise no connection can be established.
The WLAN connection is only necessary at the charging station, not on the entire lawn.
  7. Automatically check and install firmware updates
After a successful connection, the robot automatically checks for available firmware updates. These are installed via OTA (over-the-air). This is a wireless update process in which new functions, bug fixes and improvements are installed directly without the need for user intervention.
  8. Prepare initial mapping
Once the setup is complete, the robot can start mapping the garden. This is done either automatically or manually via the app. Both methods can be combined if required.

Note on error prevention:

If the robot is not recognized, it is advisable to remove it briefly from the charging station, restart it and go through the connection process again. A PIN reset can also be carried out via the menu in the app. A stable WLAN connection during setup is crucial in order to be able to use all functions.

Automatic and manual mapping in the garden

How does a robotic lawnmower work without a wire?

Before a robotic lawnmower can work independently without a boundary wire, it must know where the lawn to be mowed is located – and also where it should not mow. With classic robotic lawnmowers, a perimeter wire is laid in the ground for this purpose. The Anthbot Genie 600, on the other hand, works without any boundary wire and instead creates a digital map of the lawn using RTK technology and a 4-camera system.

Mapping is therefore the central step in commissioning an RTK robotic lawnmower and a prerequisite for precise navigation. Without a correctly created map, the robot would either mow too little area or drive over areas that should not be mowed – such as gravel areas, flower beds or kerbs.

Start automatic mapping

Automatic mapping can be activated in the app directly after setup. The robot then begins to systematically sweep the current lawn area. It uses the data from the RTK antenna in conjunction with the live images from the four integrated cameras to identify the boundaries of the mowing area and create a digital map. This process works surprisingly well in most gardens – especially with clear edges, paved paths or visible borders.

I initially had my three lawns mapped in automatic mode. The app shows the progress in real time so that intervention is possible at any time if necessary.

Supplement manual mapping

In some areas of my garden – especially in winding places or around technical installations such as my valve boxes – the automatic mapping could not work precisely enough. In these cases, I switched directly to manual mode while the automatic mapping was running. This can be done at any time in the app without having to restart the mapping process completely.

In manual mode, I use a digital control pad to steer the robotic lawnmower along the desired area. The route taken is saved on the map in real time and thus supplements the automatically recorded map. In this way, corners and narrow areas can also be mapped precisely – something that the automatic mode alone does not always recognize reliably.

Create and connect zones individually

After mapping the first area, I manually steered the robot to the next lawn area to start automatic mapping there as well. The process is straightforward: as soon as the robot is in place, the mapping can be reactivated in the app. So I mapped all three zones one after the other.

Particularly practical: the route that I have traveled manually between the surfaces is automatically saved as a connecting route. The Anthbot later uses this route independently to reach the respective zones – without the need for additional equipment.

When choosing the route, I made sure that the path:

  • runs as straight as possible,
  • does not contain any bottlenecks or obstacles,
  • lies on solid, drivable surfaces (e.g. paving, compacted soil),
  • does not cross loose materials such as bark mulch or gravel.

This enables the robot to travel the paths reliably and without failures – even during subsequent journeys under changing light or weather conditions.

The combination of automatic and manual mapping proved its worth in the test. The system is flexible and allows precise demarcation even in difficult areas. I particularly like the fact that I can intervene at any time without having to restart the whole process – a clear advantage over many other robotic lawnmowers without a boundary wire. The navigation works reliably and comprehensibly.

Zone management and area control in the garden

Edit and manage lawns individually

Once the mapping has been completed, the individual areas in the garden can be specifically edited and adapted. The map editing function in the app offers several practical functions to ensure that every lawn is optimally maintained – depending on requirements and condition. This function is particularly valuable for complex plots with different zones, bottlenecks or different growing conditions.

Create and edit zones manually

In the map view of the app, zones can be defined using a square and positioned on the map. The surface can be moved over the corners and adjusted in size. In practice, however, this means that the zones are not exactly linked to the previously mapped areas, but must be placed over the digital map.

From my point of view, this is a disadvantage. I would have found it much more practical if I could assign a zone directly to the three automatically mapped lawn areas – by simply clicking on the area, for example. The current implementation looks more like an interim solution and lacks precision.

Advantage:
Despite this limitation, the mowing intensity can be adjusted for each area. The zone function therefore basically enables differentiated control, even if the implementation currently still offers potential for optimization.

Define cutting height per zone

The cutting height can be set individually for each zone – in the range from 30 to 70 mm. This is particularly useful for unevenly grown areas or zones that are more sensitive to short cuts, such as shaded areas or areas with young grass.

Advantage:
Targeted care depending on the condition of the lawn – without treating the entire area the same. This ensures a healthier, more even overall appearance.

Setting the mowing direction

One particularly practical feature is the option to define the direction of mowing in degrees – for example 0°, 90° or 180°. This is done via a slider in the app. This allows you to specify the direction in which the robotic lawnmower should follow the paths.

Advantage:
Straight tracks not only ensure a clean, professional cutting pattern, but also more efficient area coverage. With diagonal mowing paths, it often happens that the edges of the lawn are not completely mowed – due to the oblique angle to the boundary. The robot then has to move through these areas separately, which takes additional time. A specifically set mowing direction not only saves energy, but also time and increases the area coverage of the appliance.

Set mowing repetitions

You can also determine how often a zone should be mowed per pass – for example, once for normal maintenance or twice for overgrown lawns. The function can be set for specific zones.

Advantage:
Flexible adjustment of the maintenance intensity depending on the condition of the lawn or the time of year – without any manual intervention.

Activating and configuring edge processing

In zone management, you can also specify whether the robotic lawnmower should also treat the edge and the distance at which it may travel beyond the edge – for example, 10 to 20 cm. This function is particularly important as the robot is only equipped with a central mowing unit and must extend beyond the edges to reliably cut even the outermost blades of grass.

In my test, the edge cutting function basically worked, although there were limitations on certain surfaces – for example on loose edge materials such as gravel. This showed that the robot does not always drive cleanly along the edge on soft ground or can even get stuck.

In the rest of this article, I will go into more detail on the subject of edge cutting and edging, as I believe this is one of the most important and critical points when using a cordless robotic lawnmower.

Advantage:
Neat lawn edges without manual reworking – ideal for drive-on kerbs or paved areas.

Conclusion on map editing

The extensive editing options of the map view enable targeted, efficient maintenance adapted to the respective lawn areas. In the test, navigation between several zones worked reliably and the robot worked through all areas according to the individually defined settings.

These options offer clear added value compared to many robotic lawnmowers with boundary wire, which treat the entire area in the same way as standard. The advantage of a robotic lawnmower without a boundary wire with intelligent app control is particularly evident in structured or challenging properties.

Video: Anthbot Genie 600 in test – Cordless robot mower with RTK navigation and camera recognition

In my video, I show the Anthbot Genie 600 in a detailed practical test. I explain how the wireless robotic lawnmower works without a boundary wire and how it navigates precisely through the garden using RTK technology and 4D camera recognition.

I go into the installation of the charging station and the RTK antenna, take you step by step through the setup of the app and show you how the automatic and manual mapping of the garden works. I document the creation and processing of zones, edge processing and the creation of spot and no-go areas.

I also test obstacle detection, edge cutting and mowing quality on different lawns. The first experiences with intelligent AI lawn care and manual control of the robot are also shown in the video.

The video offers a comprehensive insight into the performance and flexibility of the Anthbot Genie 600 and shows whether the modern technology is a real alternative to classic robotic lawn mowers with boundary wires.

You can find more videos about my projects involving robotic lawnmowers, garden maintenance and technology on my YouTube channel COMMAIK or in the video overview on my blog.

Adjust cutting height, mowing direction and edge cut

Fine adjustment for perfect results

Central mowing parameters such as cutting height, mowing direction and the edge cut can be configured individually in the app – separately for each zone. The cutting height can be selected between 30 and 70 mm, allowing flexible adjustment to the conditions of the respective lawn.

The option of setting the mowing direction in degrees is particularly interesting. This allows mowing paths to be specifically aligned to avoid diagonal patterns. With sloping paths, it is often the case that the edges are not completely mowed because the robotic lawnmower does not cover these areas cleanly due to the sloping angle.

In such cases, the robot has to move over the edge areas again later, which costs additional time. A clearly defined mowing direction not only improves the cutting pattern, but also saves time and energy.

Edge cutting is currently carried out at a fixed distance from the lawn boundary. In the firmware version I tested, the robot rigidly covers this distance regardless of obstacles or edges. In practice, this has led to it having problems in certain situations – for example on gravel edges – or getting stuck. The detection of sensitive edge zones was also not yet reliable at this stage.

A fundamental technical feature of the Anthbot Genie 600 is the centrally positioned mowing disc under the robot. This design means that the mowing area does not extend to the outer edge of the appliance. In order to completely cover the lawn edges, the robot must drive over the lawn boundary with part of its wheels. This is the only way for the mower to reach the last few centimeters at the edge. This works well on surfaces that can be driven on, such as paving or solid slabs.

However, it becomes problematic if the lawn is directly adjacent to a wall, fence or other obstacle that cannot be crossed. In such cases, the robot cannot drive far enough over the edge, leaving grass strips right on the edge. These must then be reworked manually with the lawn trimmer or an edge cutter.

If you have a lot of such border areas in your garden, you should definitely take this into account when planning or buying your new cordless robotic lawnmower.

For my test, I had direct contact with Anthbot and was in close contact with the developers and engineers. In order to be able to evaluate the new and revised functions, I was provided with a beta version of the firmware and a beta version of the new app.

This gave me the opportunity to gain an insight into planned improvements in advance and to test them under real conditions in the garden.

Anthbot has already announced that one of the upcoming updates will replace the fixed edge distance with a combination of live obstacle detection and dynamic adjustment. The aim is to make edge cutting even more precise and reliable – especially in complex edge areas with varying materials or height differences.

The combination of manual fine adjustment and intelligent functions makes the mower adjustment very flexible – even if some points such as the edge cut still show potential for improvement.

I am still in contact with Anthbot and will monitor the further development of the app and the firmware to report on the new and improved functions.

Set up spots & no-go areas

Flexible control of the mowing behavior

Spot areas can be defined in the app – i.e. areas that are to be mowed specifically and more frequently, for example heavily used areas in front of a patio or on a playground. No-go areas can also be set up. These prevent the robotic lawnmower from passing over certain areas – such as valve boxes, garden decorations, freshly sown areas or sensitive beds.

These areas are created either by drawing them on the digital map or by navigating directly to them using the control pad in the app. The outlines can then be edited and precisely adjusted.

Purpose and function of the no-go areas
Although the Anthbot Genie 600, like most robotic lawnmowers, has AI-supported obstacle detection, the manual designation of no-go areas provides an additional layer of security. The integrated 4D vision technology with a total of four cameras enables the robot to recognize and move around objects in real time. Shape, size and position are analyzed – even small objects such as toys, tools or animals (e.g. hedgehogs) can be reliably detected.

Nevertheless, there are situations in which obstacles should be permanently omitted – for example, sensitive areas in the garden that should not only be recognized, but consistently omitted. This is exactly what no-go areas are ideal for: they guarantee that certain areas are not entered under any circumstances – regardless of whether they are recognized at a particular moment or not.

The combination of automatic detection by camera and AI and manually set exclusion zones offers a high level of control and security – especially in complex gardens with many objects or temporarily sensitive areas.

Manual control via Bluetooth

Targeted navigation on demand

In addition to automatic navigation and time control, the Anthbot Genie 600 can also be controlled manually via the app if required. This function is particularly suitable for targeted finishing work, for example in areas that were left out during the regular mowing process – such as tight corners, hard-to-reach edges or newly created areas.

How manual control works

Manual control is activated in the app via two virtual control crosses – one for forwards and backwards and one for left and right. The prerequisite is that there is a Bluetooth connection between the smartphone and the robotic lawnmower. As Bluetooth only has a limited range, the smartphone must be in the immediate vicinity of the robot.
As soon as the connection is established, the robot can be steered forwards, backwards, left and right in real time. The mowing function can also be activated or deactivated.

The purpose and benefits of manual control

In practice, this function is particularly helpful when:

  • tight corners were not reached during automatic edge cutting,
  • narrow edge zones were not driven over for safety reasons,
  • individual areas have remained unmown due to temporary no-go areas or obstacles,
  • new areas have been freshly sown or subsequently made accessible.

In my test, I was able to reliably approach difficult areas with the manual control, especially in sharp corners, where the robot automatically describes a larger turning circle due to its round profile and thus does not fully capture the edge.

Risks and restrictions

As with any manual control, there is also a risk of misuse here – for example, through unauthorized access when Bluetooth is enabled or through careless control in sensitive areas.
As the robot does not have a live video display, the controls must be coordinated purely visually. Obstacles outside the field of vision can easily be overlooked. Accidentally driving over sensitive garden areas, such as flower beds or cables, cannot be ruled out either.

It is therefore advisable to only use manual control in a targeted and deliberate manner – for example, as a supplement to automated maintenance. It is not necessary for regular operation, but is a helpful tool for post-processing if required.

Schedules and do not disturb mode

When does the robotic lawnmower run?

Individual mowing times can be set for each zone in the app. Both the start and end time as well as the desired cutting height can be defined for each time window. The planning is accurate to the day of the week, so that the mowing operation can be precisely adapted to personal daily routines or rest periods.

Several schedules per week can currently be stored for each zone. The app allows you to select different days of the week, start times, mowing intervals and repetitions – depending on the area, time of year and condition of the lawn. The robot starts the mowing process automatically at the defined time and then returns automatically to the charging station when the job is done or the time has elapsed.

I have chosen a rhythm of two mowings per week for my garden, which has proven to be optimal in practice: The lawn stays evenly short, doesn’t grow excessively thick and is protected at the same time.

What happens if mowing is too infrequent or too frequent?

If the lawn is mowed too infrequently, the blades can stretch too much, resulting in an uneven, unkempt appearance. In addition, the clippings become longer and can clump together or remain lying around.

Mowing too often or too short, on the other hand, can stress the lawn and weaken the roots – especially in hot or dry periods. This impairs the density and regenerative capacity of the lawn.

The time-controlled mowing schedule in conjunction with the zone-specific settings allows the mowing process to be adapted to the natural growth phases of the lawn.

Activate do not disturb mode

In addition, a non-interference period can be defined during which the robot is not allowed to move – regardless of existing schedules. This is particularly practical if you want peace and quiet in the garden at certain times – for example at weekends, in the evening or when visiting the garden.

The do-not-disturb mode reliably prevents all planned mowing operations in the defined time window. The robot remains in the charging station even if a schedule is active.

The combination of flexible scheduling and idle mode offers a convenient way of adapting mowing to your own needs and the rhythm of your garden – automated, efficient and considerate.

Weather detection, security and system functions

The Anthbot Genie 600 has an integrated rain sensor on the top of the device. As soon as moisture is detected, the robot interrupts the mowing process and automatically returns to the charging station. This prevents damage to the lawn in wet conditions or unnecessary strain on the device. This protective function is also effective in the event of snowfall or heavy precipitation.

To prevent theft, an alarm siren is integrated into the appliance, which can be triggered if the robot is removed without authorization. The alarm settings can be configured individually in the app.

Numerous system functions and basic settings can also be accessed via the app. These include:

  • Selection of the operating language (German, English, French, Italian, Spanish)
  • resetting the PIN code
  • Loading the factory settings
  • renaming the robot
  • access to the digital user manual
  • the display of device information and software status

The firmware is updated automatically as soon as a WLAN connection is established at the charging station. New functions – such as a more precise edge cut, improved navigation via GPS, extended app control or updates for obstacle detection – are provided regularly via OTA (over-the-air) updates. This means that the robot remains technically up-to-date in the long term and can continue to develop with each software version.

These central functions not only increase ease of use, but also ensure a high degree of safety and freedom from maintenance during operation.

AI function: Intelligent lawn care

The robotic lawnmower learns

With the activated AI function for intelligent lawn care, the Anthbot Genie 600 offers a function that goes far beyond simple schedules or zone settings. The aim of this function is to optimize lawn care dynamically and based on data – adapted to real conditions in the garden.

How does AI lawn care work?

The function is based on the continuous analysis of sensor data, camera images and the mapping model created. The robot evaluates the cutting pattern during each mowing operation, recognizes how much stress is placed on individual areas (e.g. due to use, shade or ground characteristics) and adjusts its mowing behaviour accordingly.

Technically speaking, the robot uses a combination of:

  • Camera and image data (4D vision) for visual assessment of the area
  • Driving and mowing history to identify heavily frequented zones
  • Zone-specific vegetation development, based on frequency and condition of the cut
  • Future: Integration of weather data and soil moisture for better scheduling of mowing times

The robotic lawnmower automatically decides which zones should be mowed more frequently, where a higher cutting height may be useful or whether certain areas should be spared.

Purpose and benefits of the function

The purpose of this function is to automatically fine-tune the mowing strategy without the user having to intervene manually. Especially in larger or more complex gardens, where soil and light conditions vary, AI can contribute to a healthier, more evenly maintained lawn in the long term.

The function is also ideal for users who want to spend as little time as possible on maintenance, but still expect a high-quality result.

Is the function worthwhile?

Advantages:

  • Time savings due to fewer manual adjustments
  • More even and healthier cutting pattern in the long term
  • detects problem areas at an early stage and automatically adjusts its behavior
  • makes efficient use of existing sensors
  • Ideal supplement to classic zone and time planning

Possible disadvantages:

  • Effect only unfolds after several mowing cycles, as the AI has to collect data
  • in highly structured gardens with clearly separated areas, the function may be less relevant
  • Currently still limited transparency in the app as to which specific adjustments have been made
  • is based on algorithms that cannot fully take into account all external influences (e.g. sudden change due to redesign or selective use)

In my test, I was able to observe the first adjustments made by the AI function – for example, in the case of more heavily used routes between the zones. Here, the mowing frequency was automatically increased without me having to adjust it manually.

Overall, intelligent lawn care using AI is a promising addition to the existing functions – especially for users who rely on smart technology and want to gradually automate garden maintenance. However, anyone who regularly intervenes manually anyway and controls each zone individually will only benefit from this function to a limited extent.

Robot lawn mower without boundary wire in the test – How does it mow now?

I have now tested the Anthbot Genie 600 intensively over several weeks – in different weather conditions, on three separate lawns with angled areas, beds, valve boxes and fixed kerbs.

My overall impression is quite positive: the model works reliably, learns continuously and can be adapted very individually to the conditions in the garden thanks to the GPS-supported RTK navigation, the 4-camera obstacle detection, the flexible app control and regular OTA firmware updates.

Firmware in development – what has changed

During my test, I had access to several beta firmware versions as well as an updated beta version of the Anthbot app. In close cooperation with the developers, I was able to provide feedback on various points – in particular on mapping, edge cutting and safety detection.

In the early firmware versions, the edge cut was still imprecise, as the robot moved rigidly at a fixed distance beyond the edge – regardless of the material and obstacles. In the meantime, the controls have been noticeably improved, but the planned combination of edge logic and live obstacle detection has not yet been finally implemented. This function will follow with one of the next OTA updates.

The basic safety functions such as the detection of obstacles, animals or children by the cameras worked, but I will test these features in more detail in a separate long-term test.

For whom is the Anthbot Genie 600 worthwhile?

The Anthbot is ideal for all those who:

  • have a clearly laid out garden with clearly demarcated lawns,
  • do not want to or cannot lay cables,
  • are tech-savvy and actively use the app functions,
  • value zone control and edge processing,
  • want a robot that is constantly evolving through updates.

The model is less suitable for properties with:

  • high, solid obstacles directly on the lawn (e.g. walls),
  • very uneven, stony edges or loose borders such as gravel,
  • complicated garden structures with narrow passages or heavy shading – this is where the camera and RTK occasionally reach their limits.

Comparison with the ECOVACS GOAT A1600 RTK

I have already tested a similar but more expensive model in detail in a separate article:
ECOVACS GOAT A1600 RTK – The innovative robotic lawnmower without boundary wire in the test

Both models – the Anthbot Genie 600 and the ECOVACS GOAT A1600 RTK – use the latest RTK GPS technology in combination with camera recognition to navigate completely without a perimeter wire. The GOAT A1600 scores with a slightly higher area performance, a more powerful battery and slightly improved object detection – especially for dynamic or small obstacles.

However, it is noticeably more expensive than the Anthbot and is aimed more at premium users with large and complex gardens.

In direct comparison, the Anthbot Genie 600 is the more attractively priced alternative, but still offers a wide range of functions, regular software updates and a high degree of flexibility in terms of customization. It really comes into its own on medium-sized properties with clear edge structures.

If you would like to get a comprehensive overview of the market, you can find more information in my large comparison article
“Robotic lawn mower without boundary wire in test – The best models in comparison”
a detailed comparison of current models – including devices from Segway, LUBA, Mammotion, Ecovacs, Anthbot and others.

There I go into criteria such as navigation accuracy, cutting pattern, app functionality, workmanship and areas of application.

A direct comparison shows that not every wireless robotic lawnmower is suitable for every garden. While models such as the Anthbot Genie 600 shine particularly well in structured environments with few obstacles, other devices are better suited to winding plots or very large areas.

Depending on your requirements, budget and terrain profile, it is therefore worth taking a closer look at the comparison before deciding on a specific model.

Conclusion

The Anthbot Genie 600 is a future-proof, intelligent robotic lawnmower without a perimeter wire that already works well and gets better with every update. I particularly liked the fact that the robot continuously learns and can be individually adapted to the conditions in the garden – the mower clearly proved this in the test.

So if you are looking for a wire-free robotic lawnmower that navigates via GPS, reliably detects obstacles, can be controlled via an app and is also regularly updated with new functions, the Anthbot Genie 600 is a very good choice. This is exactly how a robotic lawnmower will work in 2025.

Summary: Anthbot Genie robotic lawnmower in test: Perfect lawn mowing without cables!

The Anthbot Genie 600 is a modern robotic lawnmower without a boundary wire that uses RTK GPS, camera recognition and app control to enable centimeter-precise navigation in the garden – without the need to lay a boundary wire. The model is suitable for lawns of up to 900 m² and can also cope with slopes of up to 45 %. Thanks to the central mowing unit and the option of individual zone control, the robot offers flexible lawn care – including edge cutting, spot areas, no-go areas and intelligent scheduling.

In addition to the mower itself, the scope of delivery also includes the charging station with RTK antenna, an important extension cable for free antenna placement as well as ground anchors, power supply unit, operating instructions and the app links for iOS and Android. The setup via app is intuitive, updates are provided automatically via OTA.
