In order to reduce the electricity costs in the long term, I have built a PV island system which stores the electricity from the photovoltaic modules in special solar batteries.<\/p><div id=\"comma-1155856709\" class=\"comma-inhalt comma-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3563316148321376\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3563316148321376\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"6867259082\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>These batteries are now to be replaced by a mobile LiFePo4 battery.<!--more--><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Initial_state\"><\/span>Initial state<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I have programmed the two bird lamps in the <a href=\"https:\/\/commaik.de\/2021\/09\/vogelvoliere-und-kleintiervoliere-im-garten-selber-bauen-aussen-gehege-bauen-fuer-hasen-voegel-und-meerschweine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">animal house<\/a> so that they are switched on one hour before sunrise each day and switched off again one hour afterwards. In the evening, at sunset, the same switching takes place.<\/p>\n<p>The lamps therefore light up for four hours a day with a total consumption of 100W. Over the calendar year, this results in a consumption of 146 kWh or just under 50 euros.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the diesel heater requires some electricity to heat the animal house during the winter months. This is approx. 400W per night, which adds up to a good 50 kWh over the winter.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, I end up with electricity costs of 60 euros per year if I take around 0.30 euros per kWh as a basis.<\/p>\n<p>As I have the necessary space on the garden shed and the necessary interest on my part, I decided in 2019??? to secure the power supply via a self-sufficient photovoltaic stand-alone system.<\/p>\n<p>The system consists of 4 PV modules with 130W each. Two modules are connected in series and then connected in parallel.<\/p>\n<p>The solar power generated is fed into three 12V solar batteries, each with 120Ah, via an inverter. A charge controller then converts the direct current from the batteries into 220V alternating current for the animal house.<\/p>\n<p>If the battery charge level becomes too low, an OffGrid relay automatically switches to mains power within a fraction of a second.<\/p>\n<p>The off-grid photovoltaic system manages to cover the power requirements from April to September completely self-sufficiently.
